Operating Charges

Over the course of East Peace Gas Co-op Ltd’s history our operating charge has been kept relatively low. Operating charge on gas service in 2004 was a monthly fee of $11.00 increased to $12.00 in 2005 / $13.00 in 2009 / $15.00 in 2010 / $20.00 in 2013 to 2022 / $22.50 in 2023.  

Gas Rates 

East Peace Gas Co-op Ltd along with the other Co-ops in the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops, are shareholders in Gas Alberta Inc, and we purchase our gas volumes exclusively from Gas Alberta. These ratesalong with a brokerage fee are passed on to our customers.  East Peace Gas Co-op Ltd applies a transportation fee as well as a monthly fixed service charge for domestic, Grain Dryer and commercial gas customers to cover the cost of delivery, insurance and services such as line locating, emergency response maintenance to pipeline facilities.  Federal fuel tax is also charged as per government regulation.

Gas Billing

Monthly bills are sent out the first week of each month and are due by the 25th of the same month. Our billing runs one month behind therefore when receiving a bill you are actually paying for the previous month's gas. The bill clearly shows the gas volumes, charges for gas, transportation as well as operating charges. Should you have any concerns or problems with your gas account do not hesitate to contact our office and we will address your concerns. 

Due Date

Amount owing on gas bills are due the 25th of the month. Penalty charge of 2.5 % is charge on any overdue amounts. A door knocker is delivered for overdue accounts and a $10 charge plus GST for accounts more than 60 days overdue. If arrangements for payment or payment in full is not made and the gas service is disconnected and a reconnection fee plus any amount owing must be paid in full prior to reconnection of gas services.

  • EFT electronic funds transfer. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our office:
  • Credit Cards are now accepted through Option Pay.  A load fee is charged above the amount owed.  The load fee is determined by the amount being paid.  This option is available in view your bill.
  • Customers can come to the office to pay their invoices using their debit cards.

E-Billing 

Keeping up with technology East Peace Gas Co-op Ltd is pleased to now be offering our customers the option of receiving your gas billing via E-Billing / email.

Meter Reads 

Customers are not required to read their meters as East Peace Gas Co-op Ltd read meters at the beginning of each month at no charge. In doing so we are able to get more accurate gas balancing. 

Customer Contracts 

Contract prices are determined by the board of directors in January of each year.
